Use of Our Website and Mobile App

By using our website or mobile app, you authorise FiFit and our affiliates to collect personal information about you for the purposes explained in this policy. This authorisation will remain valid unless you contact us and remove the authorisation.

Collection and Purpose of Personal Information 

We collect personal information from you from which your identity can be reasonably derived.

Types of personal information may include, but is not limited to:

  • Contact details
  • Date of birth
  • Gender
  • Identification information such as Drivers Licence and Medicare Card
  • Financial information such as income types, immediate expenses

We collect your personal information for the purposes of application assessment via our website and/or mobile app. FiFit and/or a matched lender may contact you via phone call, post, email or SMS to discuss the application. FiFit may also contact you to inform you about any new products and promotional offers.

Sensitive information

Sensitive information is any information about a person’s racial or ethnic origin, political opinion, membership of a political association, religious beliefs or affiliations, philosophical beliefs, membership of a professional or trade association, membership of a trade union, sexual preferences or practices, criminal record or health information.

It is not mandatory to submit this information, however if you elect to provide sensitive information it will also be captured and stored within your file.

 

Information from third parties

We may also collect information about you from Third Parties and publicly available sources including your social media accounts.

If you have accessed Third Party websites through our website and if those third parties collect information about you, we may also collect or have access to that information as part of our arrangements with those third parties

Where you access a Third Party website from our website, cookie information, information about your preferences or other information you have provided about yourself may be shared between us and the third party.

When you send a completed online application to us, we retain the information contained in that application.  We can then use that information to accurately provide our service for you.

You can also suspend and save online applications, so you can complete and send the applications later. If you suspend or save your application, the information that you have entered will be retained in our systems so that you may recover the information when you resume your application. Online applications that have been suspended or saved may be viewed by us.

  • To lenders as a part of offering the services you have applied for on our website and/or mobile application form.
  • To credit reporting bodies in relation to failure to meet repayment obligations or commit a serious credit infringement.

FiFit may also disclose certain credit related personal information to credit reporting bodies. For example, if you fail to meet repayment obligations or commit a serious credit infringement, we may be entitled to disclose this to a credit reporting body for the purpose of collecting any outstanding debts or making a default credit listing.  When such information is disclosed to a credit reporting body, the credit reporting body may include such information in reports provided to credit providers to assist them in assessing your credit worthiness.

The security of your information is very important to us. We use industry standard encryption technology to ensure the protection of your personal information.

You must also maintain the confidentiality and security of your Membership ID and password and may not share these credentials with any third party.

We regularly review developments in security and encryption technologies. Unfortunately, no data transmission over the internet can be guaranteed as totally secure.

We take all reasonable steps to protect the information in our systems from misuse, interference, loss, and any unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

If we no longer require your information, and we are legally permitted to, we will take all reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify the information.

We take reasonable steps to preserve the security of cookie and personal information in accordance with this policy. If your browser is suitably configured, it will advise you whether the information you are sending us will be secure (encrypted) or not secure (unencrypted).
